The redesigned Veritas micrometric wheel marking gauge reflects two decades of manufacturing experience.

Integrated into the stainless steel shaft, the adjustment mechanism allows you to set the approximate length and then precisely adjust the position of the wheel. Offering a maximum adjustment range of 13 mm, the ultra-thin thread moves the shaft smoothly and accurately. The knobs then lock everything in place.

The offset position of the shaft within the brass head and aluminum body creates a larger contact surface on the workpiece and prevents the marking gauge from rolling on the workbench. The hardened steel marking wheel eliminates the two major drawbacks of single-point models: the point chattering if not perfectly angled and its tendency to deviate with the wood grain. The blade cuts easily and straight, even against the grain.

Furthermore, since it is beveled on only one side, it helps to hold the marking gauge head against the workpiece, ensuring precise marking. Its cutting edge at the very end of the shaft facilitates transferring measurements—for a tenon or mortise, for example. For storage, the wheel retracts into the support plate.
