Interview:
Never rub your rasps against each other or against other tools. Store them separately from any other tools.

Oxidation: The steel is an extra-fine carbon steel. It rusts and is therefore sensitive to moisture. Similarly, some woods containing a lot of tannins may give your rasps a purplish tint. This will not damage your tools.

After use, lightly brush all the blades and give the handle a quick wipe with a dry cloth. Once your rasp is dry and clean, coat the tool with a very thin, slightly oily film. Camellia oil is ideal. It doesn't solidify or dry out, remains fluid, and will protect your tool from rust. This oil is natural, healthy, and safe for your health. It will have no effect on the wood when you reuse your rasps. Don't waste your oil. A few drops will suffice, provided you spread the oil with a brush.

We absolutely do not use metal brushes (steel, brass, etc.). We recommend natural fiber brushes: tampico, or sisal (actually the fiber of the Agave).

The Auriou tapered modeling rasp is a benchmark tool for shaping wood. Its tapered profile allows easy access to delicate areas, hollows, curves and shape joins, while maintaining excellent control of the movement.

Each grater is hand-pricked according to traditional Auriou know-how, guaranteeing a sharp, regular and non-aggressive cut, far superior to industrial graters.
The various available tine sizes allow the tool to be adapted to the stage of work: controlled material removal or intermediate finishing. The left-handed version with a 9-tine size offers a cutting angle specifically adapted for left-handed users, for identical comfort and efficiency.
