The Auriou shaping rasp is a shaped rasp designed for working with wide, continuous curves, where a flat rasp would lack fluidity and a narrower rasp would be too localized. Its curved profile allows you to work over a large contact surface, promoting smooth transitions and excellent regularity of volume.

Each rasp is hand-stitched according to Auriou's artisanal expertise, guaranteeing a unique tooth geometry. This hand-stitching provides a clean yet progressive cut, particularly suited to shaping wood, without tearing out any fibers.

The shaping rasp is often used to establish the final shape before the use of finer rasps, scrapers or sanding, particularly on curved or sculpted pieces.
