The King 220 grit roughing stone is designed for restoring heavily dulled or chipped edges.

Its open-grain structure, combined with an abrasive made of purified metal oxides bound by a resin or ceramic binder (depending on the model), allows for fast and efficient material removal.

It is suitable for both Japanese carbon steel tools and European blades.

Before use, the stone should be immersed for a few minutes until it is completely saturated with water. It is to be used exclusively with water.

If necessary, the surface can be trued by rubbing it dry on sandpaper placed on a perfectly flat surface (thick glass plate or machine table).
