Additional information

The Gesuke series comprises a selection of traditional Japanese tools for wood carving and engraving. Each tool is forged in Japan from Shirogami steel — also known as White paper steel — a steel laminated in two layers: a carbon-rich layer ensuring exceptional sharpness and good sharpening ability, and a second, softer layer forming the body of the blade.

The tools are delivered factory sharpened, ready to use, and equipped with handles made of Japanese red oak, a dense and durable wood, suitable for the repeated stresses of wood carving.

The blade length is approximately 58 mm, for a total length of 157 mm per tool — a compact size that facilitates detailed work or fine touch-ups.

The catalogue offers several types of tools sold individually:
- Hollow gouge (5 mm) – very round profile for carving rounded shapes.
- Semi-hollow gouge (8 mm) – semi-round profile for wider shapes.
- 90° chisel (5 mm) – V-profile for clean engravings.
- Straight chisel (10 mm) – flat cut for clearing flat surfaces.
- Oblique scissor (12 mm) – angled cut for inclined lines.
