Instructions for use:
- Immerse the stone in water before each sharpening session so that it soaks up water.
- Work the tool with regular and moderate movements over the entire surface of the stone.
- Allow a natural abrasive mud to form — this is what promotes a gentler and more effective action.
- Clean and dry the stone after use, then store it away from frost (natural stones can be sensitive to cold).

The Binsui natural stone, 800/1200 grit, is a traditional Japanese sharpening tool extracted from natural quarries. Unlike reconstituted stones, it is composed of natural materials offering gentle yet effective abrasion, capable of fully revealing the potential of hand-forged blades, especially those made of high-carbon steel.

This stone is used exclusively with water: the water soaks into the stone and, during use, forms a natural abrasive mud that improves contact with the blade and optimizes the sharpening action without damaging the edges.

The grit of this stone, ranging from 800 to 1200, makes it an excellent choice for traditional sharpening, offering a good balance between material removal and edge refinement. It is versatile enough for many hand tools (chisels, gouges, plane irons, etc.) and provides a clean, precise cut after polishing.
