Allows for end and cross-grain planing of wood. Produced using powder metallurgy, Veritas' innovative PVM11 steel, despite its high hardness (61-63 HRC), sharpens very easily and produces a razor-sharp edge on conventional sharpening stones. Thanks to its extra-fine and regular material structure and high hardness, this steel achieves twice the cutting durability of A2 steel, even when creating long bevels (20°).
