The Japanese Tomahawk (Satsuma Yoki) is a versatile traditional tool, hand-forged by master Mizumo, combining robustness, precision and resistance.

The Yoki shape is characterized by a head that is slightly longer than the traditional "Ono" shape, which facilitates efficient cutting and splitting action, while remaining manageable.

The head is constructed from **bimetallic steel**: a soft steel to absorb shocks, and a hard, high-carbon steel for the cutting edge, thus offering an excellent balance between resilience and cutting longevity. Hardening by quenching (58–60 Rc) ensures a high edge retention.

The double-beveled blade facilitates ambidextrous use and allows for clean, controlled splitting of wood, or efficient cutting for limbing and other applications. The handle is made of unvarnished Japanese white oak hardwood, providing a natural grip and good cushioning.

The tool comes with a leather head protector, making it easier to carry and ensuring safety when stored.
