Usage & Maintenance

Flat surface (flat variant): roughing and smoothing of flat faces, adjustments of long surfaces or preparation of wide parts.
Curved surface / organic shapes (curved variant): shaping and finishing on curved, rounded, rounded pieces – very useful in cooperage or sculpted work.
Planing & adjustments: both variants allow control of material removal and obtain a clean surface before finishing.

Product care instructions:
- Cleaning: Wipe the blade after use to remove shavings and dust.
- Protection against moisture: dry the blade and keep it dry to limit corrosion.
- Sharpening: although factory sharpened, the blade can be sharpened; use suitable water stones or abrasives to maintain an optimal edge without altering the shape.
- Handle maintenance: occasionally apply wood oil or wax to preserve comfort, appearance and durability.
- Storage: keep the plane in a dry place, and ideally in its leather case to protect the blade.

The handles are made of turned and oiled cherry wood, providing a comfortable and durable grip. Each plane comes with a protective leather sheath to safeguard the blade between uses.
