Product care instructions:
- Cleaning after use: wipe the blade to remove shavings and dust.
- Dry thoroughly: avoid prolonged humidity to limit oxidation of the metal.
- Sharpening: although delivered sharpened at the factory, these gouges can be sharpened; use suitable water stones or abrasives (respecting the concave profile of the gouge) to maintain an optimal cutting edge.
- Handle and body: if the gouge has a wooden handle, occasionally apply wood oil or wax to preserve the natural appearance and durability.
- Store in a dry place: the tool is best preserved when protected from dust and moisture.

The straight gouge Series No. 4 Pfeil Swiss made is a wood carving tool with a semi-hollow profile.
This series covers a wide range of cutting edge widths, allowing the tool to be adapted to different work stages:
- Small sizes (2 – 8 mm): detailed work, precise adjustments, fine lines and delicate reliefs.
