Product care instructions:
- Clean after use: remove wood chips and dust to preserve the cutting edge.
- Dry thoroughly: avoid prolonged moisture to limit corrosion of the steel.
- Sharpening: although delivered sharpened at the factory, these gouges can be sharpened; use water stones or abrasives adapted to the angled profile to maintain a sharp edge without altering the original geometry.
- Maintaining the handle: if the handle is made of wood, occasionally apply a wood oil or wax to preserve grip comfort and durability.
- Dry storage: keep the tool in a dry place or in a case/protective cover to prevent oxidation and accidental impacts.

The Pfeil Swiss made Series No. 9 Angled Gouge is a wood carving tool designed to facilitate work in areas where a straight gouge has difficulty accessing — including hollows, inside corners and complex reliefs.
The angled profile offsets the cutting edge from the tool's axis, allowing for a natural, precise, and comfortable cutting motion, even in difficult areas. This shape is particularly well-suited to relief carving and hollowing that requires a fluid, curved stroke.

The different cutting widths (from 2 mm to 20 mm) cover a wide range of uses:
- 2 mm & 3 mm: very fine details and narrow areas.
- 5 mm: slight material removal or delicate transitions.
- 10 mm & 13 mm: intermediate cuts on sculpted surfaces.
- 15 mm & 20 mm: moderate to large volumes requiring controlled clearance under angle.

Each gouge is forged and sharpened in Switzerland, guaranteeing long-lasting cutting quality and a sharp edge right out of the box.
