Product care instructions:
- Clean after use: wipe away wood chips and dust to preserve the cutting edge.
- Dry thoroughly: avoid prolonged humidity to limit oxidation.
- Sharpening: even though these gouges are factory sharpened, they can be sharpened; use water stones or abrasives adapted to the angled profile to maintain a sharp edge without altering the original geometry.
- Maintaining the handle: if the handle is made of wood, occasionally apply a wood oil or wax to preserve comfort and durability.
- Dry storage: keep the tool in a dry place or in a case/protective cover to avoid moisture and accidental shocks.

The Pfeil Swiss made Series No. 5 (half-hollow) angled gouge is a specialized wood carving tool which, thanks to the angled shape of its blade, will raise the angle of attack of the cutting edge on the wood and allow work in hollow parts of carving without the stubbing (discomfort) that a non-angled tool could cause.

The different width options allow the tool to be adapted to the desired task:
- 3 mm: very fine details and narrow areas.
- 5 mm: delicate adjustments and slight removal.
- 8 mm: moderate material removal in narrow or angled areas.
- 12 mm: versatile for transitions or intermediate volumes.
- 16 mm: larger surfaces or sculpted areas at a moderate angle.
- 20 mm and 25 mm: more significant removal in technical surfaces.
- 30 mm: large sculpted surfaces or significant clearances at an angle.
