- Sharpening: although factory sharpened, these gouges can be sharpened; use water stones or abrasives adapted to the angled profile to maintain a sharp edge without altering the original geometry.
- Maintaining the handle: if the handle is made of wood, occasionally apply a wood oil or wax to preserve comfort and durability.
- Dry storage: keep the tool in a dry place or in a case/protective cover to avoid moisture and protect the sharp edges.
