- Dry thoroughly: avoid prolonged humidity to limit corrosion of the steel.
- Sharpening: although delivered sharpened at the factory, these gouges can be sharpened; use water stones or abrasives adapted to the angled profile to maintain an optimal cutting edge without altering the original geometry.
- Handle care: if the handle is made of wood, apply a wood oil or wax to preserve the appearance and durability.
- Dry storage: keep the tool in a dry place or in a case/protective cover to prevent oxidation and protect the cutting edge.
