Product care instructions:
- Clean after use: remove wood chips and dust to preserve the cutting edge.
- Wipe & dry: avoid prolonged moisture on the steel to limit corrosion.
- Sharpening: although factory sharpened, these gouges can be sharpened; use water stones or abrasives adapted to the cambered profile to maintain a sharp edge without altering the original geometry.
- Maintaining the handle: if the handle is made of wood, occasionally apply a wood oil or wax to maintain comfort and durability.
- Dry storage: keep the tool in a dry place or in a case/protective cover to prevent oxidation and protect the sharp edges.

The Pfeil Swiss-made Series No. 8 Curved Gouge is designed for sculptors and craftspeople who need to work wood in slightly recessed or hard-to-reach areas. Thanks to its curved shape, the cutting edge is offset from the handle axis, allowing for a smooth and efficient cut in hollow areas.
