Two tracing ratios are proposed depending on the wood species being worked, in order to obtain balanced dovetail joints:

Ratio 1:8 suitable for hardwood .
Ratio 1:6 specifically adapted to softwood .
Long support faces allow a continuous line to be drawn on two adjacent faces in a single operation, for precise and consistent alignment.

Designed to transfer perfectly aligned lines onto the two adjacent faces of a piece of wood, this square greatly facilitates the marking of dovetail joints, one of the most used joints in carpentry and furniture making.

It is machined from robust anodized aluminum, which gives it longevity and resistance to wear, and has a clearance in the inner corner to ensure a clean and stable seat against the workpiece.
