Identical to the handles of Samurai swords, the handle of this carving knife is covered with a silk cord. Non-slip in the hand, the blade is better guided and therefore its use more precise. Sharpening this blade must be done exclusively on a fine water stone. Very high quality steel, hand-forged 3-ply Japanese steel.
