Technical specifications

The radius compass (or verge compass) allows for the drawing of large circles, without size limitations. A set of two cast aluminum heads is mounted on a wooden ruler formed by a block of wood cut to the desired length, enabling the drawing of circles larger than those a traditional compass with arms cannot. This model is manufactured by the Canadian company Veritas and offers fine and precise adjustment thanks to one of the points being offset; the adjustment is made by rotating the point. A pencil can also be attached. The two heads are made of anodized aluminum, the knurled knobs are brass, and the points are hardened steel. This system can be mounted on a ruler 12 to 18 mm thick, with no length limitation.
