The angle formed by the clamping screw and the vertical rod is slightly inclined downwards (2°) to firmly press the piece of wood to be worked on against the workbench and prevent it from sliding upwards.

The Veritas clamping claw is a simple and extremely effective workbench accessory for holding a piece of wood against the tabletop. It inserts into a hole in the chin rest and locks into place with a light tap of a mallet.

The difference between the two variants lies in the usable clamping length:

The 68 mm (05G1002) is perfect for fine parts, precision work, small assemblies and working on thin panels.

The 160 mm (05G1001) allows clamping of much thicker pieces, solid trays or three-dimensional elements, particularly in sculpture and shaping.

These two models allow for the creation of a modular clamping system on the workbench, much faster than a classic clamp, and ideal for manual woodworking.
