A burnisher is used to turn the burr of scrapers and obtain a cutting edge capable of producing a very fine chip for finishing surfaces after planing. Essential for making full use of scrapers, it improves surface finish quality, limits the need for abrasive sanding, and allows for clean touch-ups on hardwoods, figured grain, or veneers.
