This small plane proves highly effective for precisely planing curved pieces of wood (seat components, stair railings, etc.). The precision is made possible by the shallow angle (20°) of the blade; moreover, this shallow angle prevents tearing of the wood fibers. The cutting depth can be precisely adjusted using two brass knobs located on the top of the plane.
