Product care instructions:
- Initial sharpening: before first use, flatten the back of the blade with water to obtain a perfectly flat surface, then sharpen it on a suitable Japanese stone (fine grit).
- Chipboard: also sharpen the chipboard so that it sits perfectly on the blade to avoid vibrations or chip jamming.
- Cleaning: after use, wipe away wood chips and dust, then dry to avoid prolonged moisture.
- Adjustments: slight adjustments to the wooden barrel may be necessary over time to maintain optimal operation.

Tasuke Kanna Japanese planes are traditional woodworking tools made in Japan, designed to plane wooden surfaces with high precision.
Each plane consists of a body made of Japanese white oak, a wood renowned for its hardness and stability, around which a hand-forged, laminated steel blade is fitted. The blade is made of two layers of steel: a high-carbon steel at the cutting edge for a clean, long-lasting cut, and a softer steel to support the blade and reduce vibration.

The traditional wooden design implies a pull-type operating method (like classic Japanese planes), which allows for very fine control of the planing and an excellent feel under the hand.

The iron (blade) and the counter-iron are made of high-quality double-layered steel; before first use, it is common to carefully plane and sharpen the back of the blade with water on a Japanese stone to ensure an optimal cutting surface, then place the assembly in the barrel and make slight adjustments if necessary.
