Additional information

The speed and precision of the sharpening achieved with Japanese reconstituted stones have made them very popular with Western users. They feature an open-grain structure and an abrasive made from purified metal oxides bonded together with a resin or ceramic binder, depending on the model.

Suitable for use on most Japanese tools and knives, as well as European blades. The sharpening surface can be improved by rubbing the stone dry on sandpaper placed on a perfectly smooth, flat surface (machine table or thick glass plate). Before use, which should only be with water, the stone must be immersed for a few minutes to fully saturate with water.
