The Veritas plane is designed for a specific task in the workshop:
Removing exactly the right amount of material, where a conventional plane lacks access or precision.

Its blade, flush across the entire width of the body, allows planing right up to the edge, making it the ideal tool for:
- adjust a tenon that is too tight,
- clean a rebate,
- to rework a shoulder without rounding the edge.

The difference is also made on the PM-V11 blade, a steel developed by Veritas.
It offers:

-cutting strength far superior to carbon or A2 steels,
-Excellent wire stability, even in very fine passes.
-simpler sharpening than classic very hard steel.

The result: a rabbet plane that is used often, without loss of cutting quality, and which quickly becomes a key tool for assembly, not an occasional accessory.
