Product care instructions:
- Cleaning after use: remove chips and dust to maintain the sharpness of the cutting edge.
- Wipe & dry: avoid prolonged moisture on steel to limit corrosion.
- Sharpening: even if the gouge is factory sharpened, it can be sharpened with water stones or suitable abrasives to maintain an optimal edge over time.
- Handle maintenance: if the handle is made of wood, occasionally apply wood oil or wax to preserve comfort and durability.
- Storage: Keep the tool in a dry place or in a cover to protect the cutting edge.

The Pfeil Swiss-made long gouge is a wood carving tool designed for demanding hollowing work. Its elongated shape and slightly angled blade allow access to deep or hard-to-reach areas, as well as hollowing out the internal surfaces of sculpted pieces.

Forged from a single piece of steel, this gouge features a unique bevel inside the blade, finely polished and perfectly sharpened at the factory, guaranteeing a clean cut right out of the box. The ball-shaped handle fits naturally in the palm of the hand for effortless pushing, but is not designed for striking with a mallet or sledgehammer: it is intended for smooth and controlled hand use.
