These large-diameter bits are used for creating cylindrical tenon joints (e.g., bars), or, in conjunction with Forstner bits (ref. 3854), for making wooden plugs. The length of the cylindrical tenons obtained with these bits is 80 mm, and the four scoring knives produce a very clean cut without splintering or tearing of the wood fibers during use. The bits are made of hardened steel and can be resharpened.
